Good white burgundy is, of course, a necessity all year round. A necessity this trio from the latest 2022 vintage meets most deliciously. Three chardonnays: Pouilly-Fuissé, the top appellation of Mâcon, Saint-Véran and Mâcon-Bussières, all made by the fifth generation, small family-run vineyard of Domaine Gonon. A superb, traditional vigneron.
Vines have been grown on this celebrated Solutré limestone escarpment that dominates Pouilly-Fuissé since Roman times and, in the Middle Ages, by the monks of Cluny. But whatever the era, wines made here have always been very highly prized, and the wines of Domaine Gonon are no exception.
