Mas de Cadenet Rouge, Côtes-de-Provence 2020
One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is finding wines that greatly exceed my expectations which doesn’t happen that often. But it did last week!
Mas de Cadenet rosé is my favourite pink from Provence and I was not expecting to be bowled over by their 2020 red. How wrong I was! Wow... a mature blend of 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache with dry, rich red fruit that was mouth-wateringly delicious and far better than any Provençal red I have tasted for a very long time. I must admit that the bottle was empty before too long - as will many more be in the very near future.
A lovely, delicious red wine perfect for drinking this autumn - and indeed the whole year round. I will be.

This is a seriously nice red wine. Bought as we’re huge fans of the Rosé - but this is an exceptional southern France red. Full-bodied and fruity but without the heaviness you sometimes get. One for a very good Sunday lunch!
