Although Rioja remains the flagship red wine of Spain, over the last several years, fine Spanish red wine has enjoyed a delicious resurgence in quality across its many other, lesser-known denominaçiones ('DOCs'). Through the exceptional value and craftsmanship they show in unique blends of traditional and international grape varietals, these previously unsung regions are now gaining the attention they've long deserved. We've certainly been paying attention, so are delighted to feature here a few delights from Calatayud, Catalunya, and Priorat, along with a fine red wine that we feel to be one of the best-value Riojas and we've come across in a long while. Time to earmark that leg of lamb.
