From this up-and-coming producer a sensational Côtes du Rhône village and for us, one of the best value wines to be found in all the Rhône valley. Very Châteauneuf.

Domaine les Grands Bois was recommended to us as the best local grower by the owner of the best bistro in Cairanne, itself the best of the 21 Cotes-du-Rhone villages.

A captivating equilibrium between sumptuous, spicy dark fruit and a surprisingly gentle, fresh conclusion. A remarkable performance from a wine so youthful.

A bold, flavourful blend, with real presence and class. Principally syrah and malbec, with a little cabernet and petit Verdot. Dark, vibrant and bursting with bramble fruit.

A beautifully developed, traditional Rioja which after 18 years' cellaring is rendered round, silky, complex and classy - full of fruit, full of life.

"Mid crimson. A little bit toasty too. Deliciously scented. Firm and serious on the palate. Finely dry tannins.

Liquorice, tar, dark berries. Such sweet fruit! Forceful, youthful, potent. The nose has headiness and fumes. There is complexity too, and it's very open for such a young Hermitage.

Deeply coloured with profound black berry aromas, enhanced with a touch of spice and notes of garrigue and liquorice. A sumptuous wine from the excellent 2020 vintage.

Full of rich, vibrant fruit, and is of such quality that one might easily mistake the cuvée for a good Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

Here's an outstanding Vacqueyras with complex flavours of ripe, blackcurrant fruit, strawberry jam and hints of spice. Smooth and rich on the palate, with soft tannins. 

Gigondas is the greatest of the smaller appellations in the southern Rhône and Christian Meffre of Château Raspail makes one of its best wines.

Combining the rich and savoury, peppery character of the syrah with cabernet sauvignon's blackberries, cherries and floral spices and with touches of merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot.

A barrel-aged syrah, bursting with ripe bramble fruit. Deep ruby in colour, with a pronounced aroma - perfumed blackberry fruit at first, with flavours of opulent spice and roasted coffee.
