The new 2022 vintage of our very popular Nero d'Avola Origini from Sicily has just arrived. It is deliciously full bodied with rich black fruit flavours, a hint of spice and good underlying minerality from the rugged stony and lava terroir of winemaker Enrico Mercatos vineyards. When we first tasted it in the autumn it was an immediate buy and wonderful value for money.
Nero d'Avola originally cloned from syrah is the grape that has established Sicily's red wine reputation as a major force to be reckoned with throughout the fine wine drinking world. This is an excellent example of just that.
